Seeing how yours is progressing makes me think I should get my arse in gear and take mine off the road, so restoration & modification can commence Just need a cheap shed to run about in first though ________________________________________ High boost '6 for weekends406 2.1 Executive for weekdays |

I'm thinking of rat-looking a DT estate like Pete's on pug306, purely for shits and giggles. Can keep the '6 in the drive looking shiny then and use it as a weekend toy ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Right ho, after some deliberating i've decided the Sigma's being treated to a PeterT stage I inlet cam regrind and mapping by Wayne at Chipwizards. Waiting on my cam arriving from eddy_gti6 and assuming he's not managed to f*ck that up as well it'll be winging its way to PeterT over in Oz. He'll be grinding the stage I from the standard cam to extend the duration but not increasing the lift to avoid clearance issues.Few weeks should give me enough time to gather the funds for my new cambelt kit and water pump, give the car a service and make it nice and shiny ready for its trip to see Wayne in Rochdale who'll be mapping the standard 1AP ecu. Guesses as to power output after the work? Carbon enclosed induction Polished throttle body PTFE inlet gasket PeterT stage I inlet grind Standard exhaust cam Powerflow decat Magnex 2.5" s/s Mapped to V-Power Not expecting a miracle but a nice bit of extra oomph will do me ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Ooh lovely, just as I typed that my GE Quick Shift arrived, agree with a few others about it being the best mod for next to no financial outlay.Had it fitted within 5 minutes thanks to Miles' Group N linkages, bit of moly grease to reduce rattling and threadlock to *hopefully* stop it slipping. Gearchange feels lovely now, very *snick, snick* and i've positioned it as low as possible meaning very short throw. Time will tell if it will stick in place, but if it doesn't it's nothing a wee tack weld won't sort ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Ooh while i'm thinking, i never posted up the results of my blue dash conversion. Knackered the PCB for the heater controls so the bulbs wouldn't work, replacement arrived today so swapped the bulbs over and wired it all up.Apologies for picture quality, the "exposure" setting on my camera just seems to make it grainier ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Yep yep, the missus got them off eBay. Joe5y the boot ones come as part of a set, not individually, but there's a flyer gets sent with them that says any custom design made so i guess they can make one for you.I couldn't get the boot one because of the install ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Depends if I use wayne or not, Davie at SOS is offering his services.I'll be using Wayne if I go standard ECU, Davie if I go standalone. Waiting to hear back from PeterT but as long as it's safe to do so i'll be fitting the cams/gaskelt/belt kit etc here then driving to wherever, i know the stage I would be ok but the stage II could cause running issues. The bodies i'll fit at whatever garage as they'll only take half an hour to do ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Woop, a week later and i have hot air for the first time since i bought the car What an absolute ballache though, snapped the hoses, bought the wrong matrix, waited a week for replacements, fitted everything to find Pug gave me the wrong o-rings so when i jammed the hoses back in the bulkhead pipes split, off to scrappy to get a new connector and o-rings from a cab, back together again and spent hours trying to get the grommet through the bulkhead Oh and as usual i have.. erm.. a *few* screws left over Anyway hot air a-plenty now and the engine temp doesn't fluctuate much from 85-90 degrees Fitted my blue carpet too, ran out time so car's a bit messy but you get the idea Had the dash back to this before i realised i had a leak And the finished product Oh and just saw this picture and realised my coffee's still in the car ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |
