had to remove a droplink today so thought sod it let me leave it of.

My god the grip is phenonimal!! only problem is turn in is now soft and the back end cocks up at every opportunity.

what size is the front ARB on the 6?
and what 306s have thinner ARBs that will fit the 6

Much better with a bigger front ARB, feels very vague without... Standard is 21mm, I'm going to run a 25mm one on mine.

I never run no front arb without suspension alterations, as you say the front end end feels very vague on turn in as standard without one - wanders around a bit on corners too.

Yeah if your gonna remove the front arb then you need a suspension setup that you can alter to cater for the new caharcteristics Yes

Grip out of corners is loads better, however you need to change the springs and alignment to counteract the rubbish turn in. I didn't have one on mine for a fairly long time, but now started using it again when the ASTs were developed.

For everyday use I prefer it with tbh.

I've got a 17mm one people can borrow if they want to try it, but I'll want it back in a couple of months, I haven't finished my adjustable one yet and I'll need it to match my new suspension when it's done LOL

I never used to run one on my track 205, but had fairly stiff springs instead (~300lCool kept the turn in sharp and loads more grip on the exit Yes

They aren't stiff lol. I wouldn't run anything under 550lb for track use on a 205...

I did still only have standard 309 bars on the back though, i'd just bought fat ones and new front springs for it but then decided to break it instead.

Depends how low the car is and what the damping curve is set at really.
High spring rates can make up for poor damping but they're nasty if you're not very low or like taking a bit curb

And on your driving style and personal preference too. No two drivers tend to have the same setup.

Yep, you find you can't often run the car as soft as you want for the most grip because the driver gets uncomfortable with it.

205 Bilstein Group N stuff, converted the front struts to run 2.25" springs. It's surprisingly driveable on the road though!
