It will be your intercooler and piping thats holding you back craig Yes

Are you using the generic low boost map? That was from Zac's orginal low boost which had the larger cooler setup.

Chris (Farmer) has/had the same IC setup and was running around the same as you. I have some printouts of mine, i will post them up Yes

Yes

I basically set up my rallye to mimic Zac's car, his produced around the 260bhp mark with the map and i managed to get pretty close to that. Am getting it on the rollers again in a few weeks as for all we know the ones i used may be out, was odd though as everyone else on the day seemed to be down on power!

I like how yours was also on a dyno dynamics roller. What PSI is yours boosting?

???

Yours is at 12.5:1 AFR, Rallyestyle is at 13:1 to 13.5:1 AFR, no?

Ergo, yours is richer Ninja

When Zacs was first mapped back in the day though it had this [actual] IC, although my pipe bends are welded which will be restrictive.

Well, if it's on the same map, and it's running richer at high rpms, then it's definately pointing to not getting as much air in...

Can I just Dremel the f*ck out of my restriction ring or am I risking DET too much?

That would be the last thing i would do Yes

Have a word with rich to find out the map you have, if its for the bigger IC then it might be worth getting it remapped. Given the cost of that though it may well be cheaper to upgrade to a bigger IC Yes

It'd get you the airflow but there would be more heat in the intake charge, so I'd speak to Rich about that first!

Craig,

You should see more than 7 PSI boost - you should see about 9 PSI.

This could easily equate for the power loss.

I think the issue could well be cam timing.

Your car has an extremeley poor idle, possibly caused by lack of manifold vacuum / too much cam overlap. I mentioned this to you when you collected the car Smile

With too much overlap, some of the boost will go straight down the exhaust, rather than pressurize the combustion chamber and inlet plenum, hence the low reading on the dyno's boost gauge.

It's definitely worth checking and tweaking the cam timimg on the dyno Yes

The problem won't be the intercooler - plenty are using the Forge intercooler and getting 240-260 BHP which is the target power for the conversion.

Also check what size the restrictor is before the supercharger - let me know what it is.

Regards,
Rich.

couldnt it be the case that the car could be over fuelling, rather than not getting enough air? Dunno

It's unlikely, there's less to go wrong on the fuel side of things.

Craig supplied all the parts, including the injectors etc. I don't know but I assume they are new.

The injectors are Zac's old ones from a proven car so they should be ok. I'll look into the boost ring but 27mm is ringing a bell, although I could well of dreamt that number.

Where would be the best place to get the cam timing looked at?
