Having the beam built for the road will always make it a compromise for trackwork. If you don't use it on the road that often I'd go for the following:

3 degrees of negative camber
25mm torsion bars
30mm ARB
Solid rear beam mounts
Bilstein Group N dampers
Full rebuild as needed.

Front wise, some more camber, Rich W lower arms and Bilstein Group N dampers with 5-700lb springs.

I run solid rear beam mounts, Spoox hybrid arb and Avo dampers at the rear (with lighter, wider wheels) and find it very good for track work however I am looking for some -camber for this season. Class regs do not allow me to use adjustable top mounts but Skip Brown do a mod to the front hubs to give 2 degrees- on the front. I would love some info on the modded trailing arms listed in this thread.

So you weren't taken with the ASTs then Tom? What could be done to improve them?

Anybody mucking about with the rear toe at all? And yes lightweight 7" wide wheels are a must.

If I make it to the Essex RR day you lot are more than welcome to try my current setup and see what you think - would be very interested in some feedback.

I've got a zero toe setup on mine, and whilst it does make the car a lot more adjustable on the throttle, and sharpens up the turn in, you do sacrifice some rear end grip and stability for it.
Somewhere halfway between would be ideal, I'm going to alter mine when I get chance.

It's not so much unstable, just a little more nervous at the back on the high speed bends.
I really should stick some lightweight wheels on mine rather than these Mi16 alloys, given the rest of the weight savings LOL

I have recently refurbed mine, and i have :-

New bearings seals etc,
21mm Torsion bars,
28mm Anti roll bar (with one trailing arm machined out to 30mm diameter to suit)
Lowered about 30-35mm although i'm thinking of raising it up another 10mm,
Standard pug dampers,
Solid skip brown beam mounts,
7" lightweight wheels on 15" 195/50 toyo r888's

Have to say i am pretty pleased with it so far, not tested on track as i have been skint but on the road it feels a lot more stable than before, on a couple of occasions i have had oversteer coming off roundabouts and a bit of four wheel drift,
I'm not sure on camber -maybe in the future and i may upgrade my dampers at some stage although seems fine at the moment and gives a nice ride,

Smile Dave..

Nope, send him your bare trailing arms and he will machine them and fit the oversize stub axles.

Hmm, not as much as I was expecting tbh, I assume these would do away with the need for seperate wishbone bushes?

If your rebuilding the beam then you don;t need a Hybred ARB as the Arm pin's can take upto a 30mm bar, For road I'd go to around 27mm or Track 30mm

I found that my standard pins where OK on one side to accept my 28mm ARB but on the other side i had to get it pressed out and machined to 30mm diameter, i then got the pin back in by leaving it in the freezer overnight, then mildly heating the trailing arm and then using BFH technology to tap/smack the pin back in, only cost me

I thought they were awesome, very stable and exactly the kind of comprimise i would be looking for. Only issue would be the price really,

Fair enough - I really liked CUJ's rallye on the B8s and eibachs. Was a very similar feel (from the passenger seat), but not quite as well damped.

And yes the price is a problem unless I break mine which is very tempting at the moment. Sad
