Hi guys,

wondering if i could get this fitted to the 306, i have done a bit of research and know they do shorten the life of the turbo, but have now seen some cars with on off buttons which would be the way to go, would not want it on all the time lol.

Have an efi euro 1 management so know idea if that could run it, any info would be handy.

Im sure it would be doable, but why though?

Seeing as your in Canterbury im sure youve been to Lydden to see the Rallycross before now?

They run anti lag and launch control, because regardless of 4wd they still make 550bhp and 450fl lbs ish in the super cars, thats enough to spin up the stickiest of tyres.

He is running a load of power, or rather was last time I saw it (400+)

Would a different type of turbo help you - not entirely sure if they're applicable but twinscroll or variable vane? Just a thought, but you've probably looked into them already.

I know quite a few of the high power Cossies use anti-lag systems. Have had a look over one, but wasn't entirely sure the owner knew what he was talking about when he pointing at bits of it. He had an on/off button and a 400/500/600 switch on the dash for different boost/maps LOL

Not sure a chane of turbo is needed, really just want it for the noise, am sure it would become useful at some point

Depends how much effect you want, you can get a mild form of anti-lag from the mapping on closed throttle, but it raises engine internal temperatures as well as the exhaust, although not as punishing as a full blown system.

Sounds like a nice mild system would be the better option. Have heard it puts massive strain on exhaust and manifold, but thats for the full blown system on all the time

Should be able to set up a mild form using the closed throttle parameters then, you'll want to alter your idle setup to one using as little ignition advance and as much throttle as possible so you can keep enough air flowing through the engine when the throttle's shut though.
It'll use more juice and be a bit lumpy on the idle, and it'll be on all the time, but there ya go.

Think you can setup antilag on EFi using aux inputYes I've only mapped one nasp with it.

If your running a t28rs it'll be fineYes

I believe anti lag works by chucking fuel into the cylinders then igniting it whilst the exhaust valves are wide open. The force from theigniting petrol goes down the exhaust keeping the turbo spinning at full whack so theres no lag when you next get on the gas. Obviously igniting the petrol with the exhaust valves open causes masses of heat and a nice shockwave to go straight into the manifold and turbo. This is why its not really practical for clubman racers and/or those on a tight budget as the manifolds and turbos tend not to last too long.

As Pete says, it's not a good on a road car that you don't want to be rebuilding every couple of thousand miles or so.

Anti-lag is basically the same as det / pre-ignition, but it's forced to happen after TDC rather than before TDC.

It's just an uncrontrolled explosion that commences on the exhuast side of the combustion chamber - the energy of which is used to spin ip the compressor rather than rotate the crankshaft.

It's incredibly harsh on exhaust valves, exhaust manifold and turbo.

I wouldn't bother.

What you describe is the bang bang method of anti lag. Its not good on a road car, as said valve train takes a beating and the heat in the manifold/turbo gets very high.

There are newer forms of anti lag which feed air directly into the exhaust as found on modern wrc cars.

Rich.. so launch control controlled via injector pulse would be a no no too?

You would prolly be safe running nitrous at timed pulse as an anti lag binka..Yes

Sounds very technical now lol, might just be with out sounds like the easier option, dont want to be replacing a turbo at around
