iirc there was only 200 t16 405's imported to the uk at time of manufacture, however the aussies and french etc got about triple this number... greedy or what. the engines them self only produce about 200bhp, but the running gear is 4x4 and much better than that of the mi16x4 so can be ran with higher output tuned engines Smile

I'm fairly sure there weren't 200 imported to the UK. More like 10 max.

Lush project car there mate and I love the street sleeper. What suspension are you going to use?

No? That's how rare they are!! Looks great CJ! Keep us updated!

Are you also on 205GTiDrivers.com/forum?

Thanx mate! I'm also on 205GTiDrivers.com, I did the EuroTrip with the UK guys in my 205 GTI-6 through Europe, that was outstanding! Cool

Have you informed to the prices of AST? 3000 pounds is a little to much in my opinion... LOL

No it wasn't necessary to remove the headlining. We cutted a hole in the floor, lowered the cage, welded the top of the cage, put it all back and at the end we close the holes in the bottom... Smile

I ordered them straight off the Cobra factory, these are the EVO - 5 points light weight harnesses.

Who the victor would be? That depends on so many different things... A turbo charged car has a complete other character then a supercharged car... You can't say in one reply which one is quicker... Wink

To buy a complete T16 engine you will be paying in Holland (if they are for sale) around 3500 pounds. The T16 delivers in overboost function (in my 306 T16's) they are setted to the max, will produce 220 bhp and 320 Nm... Not tuned, just original.

There was only 4 405 T16s registered new in the UK! All were left had drive! There has been a few imports registered over the years but there was only about 400 405 T16 made in total, most of which the french police had!

There is one of the Uk registered ones near here but the stupid old man that has had it since it was 3 years old wont sell it!!Sad

Wow... amazing line up of cars..

Great project.. and very interesting brake setup?Smile

Someone used to have a Ecosse built Sigma one.. one of rikky's mates iirc. Amazing engines and can be tuned to 300bhp easilyYes Presume your gonna scrap the charge cooler for a FMIC?

Get a 2871r on there and it'll be a very useable track carBig grin

edit:found it..

Thanks! Were just gonna to drive it original, just to see what the engine does and first of all learning to drive on the track.. When that is all under control, VEMS will be installed and bring the engine to a 260 bhp. That is also the max of the VAT 25. After that you need a bigger turbo, a mate of me in Holland drives a T16 on the track with a 28RS and produce 360 bhp. With the original T16 chargecooler so no need for a FMIC. I also installed a big radiator apart from the engine cooling system to cool the turbo circuit.
