Hi people,

Ok brief storey, used to have a 306 TD loved it, tuned it but never quite had that 'go' i wanted, after a few other quick french and jap motor's ive stummbled back to a 306.

Got this on the CHEAP and for a good reason it needs ALOT of work Sad but gona give it the time and attention i don't think its had thruout its 13 owners!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

List so far.........

New standard exhaust ....( as it fell off )
New air filter ... ( that also fell off )
HeadGasket
ABS Sensor
Airbag Sensor
Tidy up bodywork
And have lost all fans, aircon, heater functions now completely.....very odd.

:/

So yeah its abit of a mission but hope to bring it back to its former glory.

Only guessing its the sensors listed above, ABS only works when the ABS WARNING light is ON LOL, and the airbag light only flashes every now and then.

^^^^ Huh? so because he only paid 500 he should break it then ??? Sorry i don't get that sort of mentallity...so if he bought an identical car for 2500 you'd say 'well done and good luck with returning it to its former glory'...

Anyway good luck with the project Thumbs up

no point breaking it , no one wants blaze panels :fizz

mate its a bargain, fix it and enjoy it. i have no idea whats everyone is goin on about, so what if it needs work, and had loads of owners, it will make you love the car more once you have fixed it.
you will apreciate it more than a ready made example.

Have to say, I'd be thinking of breaking it and putting it out of it's misery too, it's going to be a lot of time and a fair bit of cash to sort out. That said, if you want to do it, then go right ahead, I'm all for keeping a car on the road when posible.

Love the story so far- you'll have loads of fun (and blood and swearing Wink) doing it up. Grab bits here and there and it won't cost you much doing most of it yourself- look forward to seeing the pics! The airbag sensor will almost certainly be a dodgy wire under the drivers seat that gets knocked pushing the seat forward/ back. They all do it- check out the wire and the plug, clean/ adjust as you need and that's one thing off the list!

don't listen to the vultures telling you to break it, they only want the parts to fix their cars. keep it and fix it up, you'll enjoy it so much more knowing that you've restored it to its former glory than if you just went out and splashed the cash on a good 'un.

good luck with the project, and my condolences on the colour. Whistle

Lol cheers guys, don't worry the thought had crosssed my mind about breaking it down, my girlfriend loved that idea!!!

Been doing my research and i know alot of good people, found a mate that owns a garage who will do the headgasket for me at a VERY good price, have had loads of PM's with offers for exhausts (so cheers to those people).

And cheers for the support, its good to know theres people on here who i can turn to when i have that final screw and have no idea where it goes lol!!!!

Other bits and bobs i can do myself over time, already sorted the suspension out so thats ticked off. AirbaG LIGHT did only come on when i put the seat back coz the previous owner was a midget lol. I got it wrong ive just gone thru all the service history and receipts and its only had 7 owners, still alot but at least its not 13 ! lol

I like a challenge and the reward factor when its complete will be worth it. Its in better nick that what alot of projects start out like, and it is a Project after all.

Brendan.

Oh and theres only a very slight amount of surface rust on the rear arch where it was lowered way to much and a little near the badge nothing that can't be smoothed over. Have a new badge on the front aswell now and had the rear hiked up another notch.

Its Good coz i live between Pug1Off and spoox motorsport so have 2 pug tuners nextdoor Smile
