Nice to have the website back up and running. Few little updates while it was down, including an absolute nightmare track rod end change that last a week Suppose it's all part of the learning curve with these vehicles. After seeing cwspellowe's blue carpet from a s16 in his phase 1 I had to have some of that in my life so I tracked one down. All went well except the fuel filler lever is in a slightly different place so I needed to add a small piece if carpet to cover that hole up and the sound deadening is attached to the blue carpet where a phase 3 is actached to the floor in the car. Some pictures Next up was to fit a set of Avo GTX rear dampers as mine were getting very bouncy and were an advisory in my MOT last year. I bought these from Hovis and all they needed was a set of lower bushes, while I did these I gave them a lick of paint just so they didn't look too used when put on my car How they turned up. After new bushes, sprayed and stickers Old ones in question Lastly I changed my track rod ends, I wasn't going to put this in but it was such a mission that I thought this may help somebody out in the future. Drivers side was nice and easy. Wheel off rod end out and all that. Passenger side was a b*tch, for starters I couldn't get the bolt out that attaches it to the hub so I cut it off. Next was to get the rod end out of the rod, impossible to say the least. After 2 days of struggling with two of my mates who are qualified mechanics it was not going to budge in a hurry. Which was strange as the tracking was done no more than 8 months ago. In the end I gave up and thought why not change the whole rod. When that finally turned up I came across another problem, which was the silly boot that even my qualified Peugeot mechanic didn't know how it came off. Eventually I found out how it stayed on the ram but was too late to save the boot. They push on if anybody's interested, they have a metal ring in the rubber to keep it from coming off. All it needs is a screw driver tapped in the end of it and prise it off. Track rod and end replaced with a nice new boot The misery was over, or so I thought! The following day saw me drive around to three garages to try and get the tracking sorted. Shit-fit are honestly the worst company in the world, I kind of already knew this as I have to use them for my work van tyres. Anyway I rang them to book my car in, 5o clock that's fine we'll definatly fit you in. When I arrive they were too busy apparently to do it today try another branch, which I did to sit around for nearly an hour for them to turn around and say just as I'm driving it onto a ramp that my cars lowered so there machine won't work with lowered cars by the tine I left there and got to a independent garage they were closing in 20minutes and didn't want to take on a new job so close to closing. Not good as I'm meant to be driving to Bournemouth the following morning. I finally found a place the following morning and they did it no problems. So a day job turned into a week of the car jack up and with the extra tools and parts such as heat and mole grips I had to buy it set me back easily another £80 FML!!! On a slightly lighter note this is how many boxes of b*tch pop you can fit in a 306's boot... You stay classy ________________________________________ Phase 2 Blaze GTi 6 (Standard) SoldPhase 3 Supercharged China GTi 6 (249.8 BHP) Sold Phase 3 Supercharged Diablo GTi 6 (443 BHP)Sold Nissan 350Z (300 BHP) |

Put the grille and hockey sticks back in too whilst you're at it so it looks less like it's been in a front ender.________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

The trims turned up big thumbs up to Chris! Also finished the spoiler. Not sure if it's the halfords clear coat I used but it looks crap. Not quite sure what went wrong but I am going to redo it. Pictures anyway of my mess. Any advice welcome, as quite disappointed with the outcome. And I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything wrong. I want the dirty grey plastic one back ________________________________________ Phase 2 Blaze GTi 6 (Standard) SoldPhase 3 Supercharged China GTi 6 (249.8 BHP) Sold Phase 3 Supercharged Diablo GTi 6 (443 BHP)Sold Nissan 350Z (300 BHP) |
