Jim, you said earlier in the thread about changing other mounts to compensate the strain? What do you mean? I have a broken mount on the rear pass side I believe. Is there 2 mounts on the rear beam or 4?________________________________________ Ex Astor 6 ownerAlso an Ex owner of a Bianca 6 Now an ex owner of a 2005 9-3 2.0T 210bhp Aero Swedish Saloon thing!! will130787 wrote: Jim, you said earlier in the thread about changing other mounts to compensate the strain? What do you mean? Someone asked if you can just do the rear mounts as they are easier to make, unfortunately if you have rubber mounts at the front and solid ones at the rear eventually something will snap So you have to replace all four mounts (two fronts, two rears) at the same time if you decide to go for solids. Borrowed this pic from Disco Stu's project thread so you can see where they go, they are at the front and rear of the beams mounting frames (In red) ________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. motorman wrote: have you got any of these in at the moment? Not at the moment bud, I'm pretty snowed under at work at the moment and as I only have one set of returned mounts at the moment it's not really worth the effort to make just one set. I usually like to manufacture three or four sets at a time to make it more worthwhile. If anyone has any old sets they want to part with it would speed things up a little. ________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. daveyboy wrote: Start a list then: 5. Cjmharris? I won't be getting any for a while yet Jim. Happy with the handling on mine, until I start doing more track work and then change to solid mounts, hybrid arb etc. I will get those mounts sent off tomorrow hopefully, and in return, you can knock some money off the ITB heatshield I will be purchasing shortly ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |
