ive had the front roll bar disconected on both sides, fitted new arb bushes, new wishbones+bushes, new shocks and new drop linkages.
ive allready fitted the p bushes and tightened them all up as they are the roller ones so the front can be done up without having the car on the ground.

but there is a 2 inch gap between the roll bar and the droplink now, i can get it to reach with a bit of tension, im sure its in the same position it was before.
is it ok to have the tension on it to fit the droplinks or do i need to undo the long p-bush bolt and nut so the droplink can reach the shock naturally??
thanks katieLOL

is both sides in the air? should be able to get them in easily if they are.

if not, either jack the other side up, or jack the wishbone up.

can get them in easily, but it leaves some tension on the bar, im not sure if this is how i want it or wether i need to undo the p bush bolt and nut to relive the tension from the arb bushes, so it can go in naturally.
if you get me???

Stick some grease on the arb bushes, they should rotate freely.

The ARB has a small indent which fits the ARB bush which also has an indent which fits into the ARB clamp. Once tightened they do not rotate freely.

If not correctly aligned then the ARB does not fit the drop link well and will feel like tension on the ARB.

Make sure the ARB clamps are torqued 55Nm

this would make the gap even biggerLOL to fit the roll bar i have to push the roll bar UP 2 inch, jacking the wishbone up would probably make the roll bar 4 inch away!
i can fit the droplinks its just i have to push the arb up a bit to do so.
im sure its in the same position as before so maybe its due to the different shocks and just needs attaching and leaving.

Yes, just lift it up, but it should rotate fairly freely, if it's binding on the bushes it won't work properly.

well ive put in new arb bushes and also fitted bilsteins at the same time.
it could be a case of i havent tightened the bar in at the right angle or a case of the droplink mount been at a different height on the bilys.
i think i will look into it more before i connect it all up.
thanks everybody

I can't understand the rotate freely bit ... The indent on the ARB locates into the bush indent which locates into the clamp indent ... when tightened it does not move freely.

I would undo the clamps and align the bushes correctly into the ARB indents.

When the ARB clamps are pushed over the bushes they can rotate the bushes so the indents are not snug into the ARB. This causes the ARB to get stuck at the wrong position.

If it is all done correctly the ARB will be at just the right height for the drop links.

unsure ... I got Bilstein front shocks. It depends on the top mounting point for the drop link. If the length is different then it is going to mess up the ARB. Peugeot must have put the indents in the ARB, bushes and clamps for a reason?
