Where would i get the above or does anyone know the price of a motor sport oil pump?my mate who builds rally cars, he said to just use a group n spring and a standard pump, but not sure where to get 1 from. Well ive heard of this before, and i know where the spring is as ive got my engine in bits and the oil pump out, was thinking of going for an uprated oil pump, has anybody baffeled there sump??________________________________________ In my garage just now2003 BMW M3 & 2009 L200 Raging Bull & Audi Q5 S Line AX stock rod & Saxo Stock rod Sold the bike an charged rallye an bought a caravan, midlife crisis or what! |

I have an apparent 'uprated' spring in mine, cant think for the life of me where I got it from though. To be honest I think my oil pressure is a little to high though At around 60psi at hot idle. Does anyone know the standard pressure?Adding some washers/spacers at the back of the spring will give you exactly the same effect, I would of thought a couple of mm would do the trick. ________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |

the group A oil pump spring Con anly applies to the old alloy block engines where certain unscrupulous companies sell a 6 bar oil pump spring to go in the oil pump instead of their stock 5 bar spring, most do them for a Tenner.all the XU10 iron block engines have this 6 bar ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

The sump is baffled and has a windage tray. I was looking at getting a 6 sump fitted to my mi16 when I owned it as they suffer from oil surge.I've never heard of anyone having any problems with the 6 engine though?  ________________________________________ Pics of my 6My 6 on Google Video thanks to coxy306Xsi |

The RS has the best/highest pressure relief spring in the oil pump anyway  And windage tray, with trap-door compartmentation around the oil pump pickup. Can the spring just be shimmed up with a spacer? (Obviously you would need to make sure the spring would'nt go coilbound, or that you had'nt made the pressure too high) But in theory would this be ok?________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. Thats the idea, The way I see it is that the springs go coilbound under normal operation, so by adding a spacer they go coilbound earlier and dont let the relief valve open as much, which will give you more pressure.I Had an incorrectly assembled pump a while ago, where The t shaped spacer/guide was fitted at the wrong end of the spring so there was virtually no travel left in the spring/valve. On starting the engine it blasted the seal out of the back of the oil filter, scary stuff let me tell you!! Ideally i'd get a 5 and a 6 bar spring off Peugeot and measure the coil bound length of each, this will give you a good indication of how big the spacer needs to be. A friend has done it to an earlier 5 bar pump so i'll quizz him about how big the spacer was. Al ________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |

It's not so much the coilbound length that matters - it's the spring preload, making it go coilbound to early will result in what you experienced - pressure going through the roof at high revs when the ports choke and seals popping out.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments.
