Reduced by 10bhp would depend on exactly how far tuned your engine is. e.g if you had a 10 bhp engine it wouldnt suddenly not have any power cos you changed an air filter, but an engine running near its max say 240 -250 bhp N/A would need every bit of flow possible so ANY obstruction will loose you BHP. ________________________________________ 205 XU10J4RS by PUG1OFF 236.4 BHP at Northampton Motorsport.Lets Race! |

Well, say you're putting out 200bhp on 'bodies with a '6 engine, 'bodies and some bits and pieces. Now, you might loose 3bhp at most with a proper sausage filter. Maybe 1bhp with a proper sausage filter + airbox, you wouldn't ever tell the difference. Stick some cheap socks on there and you could well be suddenly missing 15bhp... IIRC someone on the 106 rallye site lost 30bhp because of trumpet socks + confined space for airlfow, on a 150bhp engine - ouch! ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. To be fair though, the 106 is a terrible configuration for bodies anyway, they face backwards (no ram effect) they are tight up against the bulkhead (no decent trumpet length) so the importance of a decent type of filter is even greater when you are up against it right from the start. ________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. Ram effect doesn't work the way most people think it does though Jim, facing backwards doesn't really matter tbh, but the rest doesn't help.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. Not enough to worry about as long as you keep it clean and oiled. Pipercross do an aerosol oiler that makes that job easy. PAS relocation kit costs a few quid though, thats the opnly downside. ________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. I sell new and used welding equipment in the Hampshire area.
