Had car running a couple of days, but not managed to take it out on the road dew to waiting on a CV boot and then a bottom rad hose seal, drove it a few miles earlier today and the engine has let go.

Its missifiring like mad, has no power, smokes like hell and thers oil all over engine bay.

From what i can see the pipe that goes from the block to the head/cam cover has blown off, it sounds like its lost compression when i start it aswell, so there seems to be pressure built up somewhere. headgasket again into an oil channel or piston ring on a cylinder maybe ?

Knew i should have just bought a new engine Sad

What mileage was on it then? Probably best off now trying to source a new lump rather than repairing it over and over only for it to be just as unreliable as before.

Talk sence marry! LOL

Think ive decided to find a smashed up 6, i need an interior and an engine, so makes sence to buy a damaged 6 for all the bits i need, then can sell the rest and make some money back.

Did you check the bores/pistons for cracks and other damaged when the head was off?

They can be quite hard to spot BTW.

Basically the problem you have is crankcase pressurization, so it will be a damaged piston or rings, breach accross the HG to one of the oil galleries, or a crack in the block giving the same effect.

Good luck getting it fixed Dan.

Smile

Didnt notice anything wrong with the bores rich, i did notice that the pistons moved around though, so maybe the rings have had it.

I realy dont want to find out whats wrong with the engine yet, rather just buy another smashed up 6 for the engine, swop it all over, then take the f*ckd engine apart and sell what i can.

Where is this place phill, you got a number ?
