For those of you that are interested, I thought i'd give you an update on how my trackcar is coming on. In true 'Ed' style, its got a bit more than the last one, but at least will have the power to back it up Devil

So far, all the suspension is sorted, fuel tank is on and windows are in (I really did just get a shell), new brake lines fitted, V6 brakes are on, diff is in the 6 speed box. Im fitting the clutch next week and then attaching the box to the engine ready to be located in the shell. Once I get back from a stag do in bulgaria this week the engine and box will be dropped in and then the real fun can begin.

All that I actually need to buy for it now is an exhaust and an Apexi boost controller for it. Everything else (bar a few hoses) is sat somewhere in the garage.....

Excuse the links, cant get my photobucket account to work for some reason Dunno

So, let me introduce you to my l'il f'kin friend

Chavtastic

Wide arches front and back

front

back

Whats supposed to go here? Unsure

C20LET

Ahh..... Devil

300 reasons to like this engine

Naked inside too

stripped

Suspension is by TWR (Tim Wilkinson Racing)

fronts

rears

Polybushed

Powerflex

Had to get 17" wheels due to the arches

but they are nice

So we're looking at ~300bhp & 300lb/ft in ~870kgs

Torquesteer by any chance? Razz
Looking good Ed - it is going to be a lot of fun. Been in a 280BHp mk1 and that was pretty mental.

LOL

I dont think it'll be that bad...diff + 17" + R888s + proper suspension should allieviate alot of it. Obviously booting it out of a 2nd gear corner wont be sensible, but at least with the boost controller I have 3 settings of power dependant on the circuit and weather conditions. My mate has one of these engines in a Corsa and has had ir GPSed at 162mph Mellow Cant wait to take it the 'Ring Ninja

Corsa's have a wider track than the Nova's, but then this is wider again (doesnt yet fit on the trailer - nothing my mates plasma welder wont fix Whistle) and a longer wheelbase. Yes the shell is all sorted for that. Used to have an XE on Carbs that the guy did tarmac rallying in, its in cracking condition for a '92 shell. Only 2 small rust patches that are easily sorted, plus it will always be dry stored Cool

Well more work has been happening. got some lovely quads for it. One of the bulbs is f*cked which is fine as that is now going to be the cold air feed.

Dunno about easier but its cheaper as the C20LET is less money.

Plus all the engine and gearbox mounts line up exactly with no modification, not sure if thats true with the new turbo motors.

Wouldnt be old skool with a newer engine either Wink
