Usually the rubber comes unstuck from the metal part of the bush, and bangs on the bolt which attaches the whole lot together. ________________________________________ Black 306 GTi-6 175.8BHP SCA Norwich ProjectTopaz Blue 205 CTI |

Do you have to disconnect the rear brakes to do this? (pipes or handbrake)________________________________________ A 306 Enthusiastphillipm wrote: But diesel is the devils fuel Ps3 IDhils306 “S-H-I-T-H-O-L-E.. Shithole!” |

Sounds like this is my problem then. I have a knock coming from the rear mostly under sudden cornering loads or when the suspension tops out. What is odd is my rear mounts are only 15,000miles old and they are genuine pug ones. I have done one track day on them but I wouldn't think that would have destroyed them that quickly would it? At 95,000miles old I am getting worried the clunk noises might be because the bearings inside the beam need changing. ________________________________________ China Blue 306GTI-6 Ph3Team Now Bikeless |

I have a set of solid mounts sat under the bed waiting to be fitted. Got them last year but havent gotten around to fitting them yet. Lotek I am worried it is what you say though and yes the rear end was lowered about 15000miles ago. I'm just not sure how you distinguish the knocking noise between bearings and rear mounts failing. ________________________________________ China Blue 306GTI-6 Ph3Team Now Bikeless |
