There is more bad to having a car dipped.a mate of mine had his escort cosworth shell dipped and some of the acid was never got out when it was clean off.5 years down the line and the rear chassis has rotted from inside out.

Well yes it definitely has its issues, you also need to make sure the primer makes it to all the crevices which the acid does, as even if it washes out properly you can still end up with bare metal in places which will rust to buggery.

Miles, I've got very close to giving up on the idea of racing cars several times now, it seems like every time I get a bit closer another setback happens. Should've got a cheap mkII Golf Gti and gone racing in that for peanuts.

Thanks Rikky, but for now I'm going to persevere with the one I've got. Good to know though in case I ever stack it.

err, quite!

I think I'd fit the outer ones underneath, so they inject along the curve, also more bonnet clearance, though I haven't see the side on profile you've gone with.

Haver you any other trumpets to trial? I only ask as I noted a few times recently that Sandy has found that a full radius type rather than a long flare seems to work better, though of course its not a Sandy head or engine so may behave differently.

No, these are the only ones I've got, but I'm going to have to figure out some kind of enclosure and probably will mount the outer rail underneath.
I'll measure the overall length but I'm pretty sure I'm at the length Sandy recommended based on what I told him about my cams and exhaust specs.

Cheers Thumbs up

They do look long, but if you look at the actual throttle body part it's about half the length of a regular DCOE style throttle body Wink

I need to do my dry build now to find out if what Sandy said about Wossners applies to mine. I did do a little clearance work on the chambers so I'm not overly concerned about the crown coming into contact but if the valve reliefs are wrongly located then there's going to be tears before bedtime.

I think I'll stick with 8 for starters Wink

Here's the end view, had to cut the sides of the trumpets a little to get the bodies on the 92mm centres that the fuel rail injector bosses are pitched at.

I really wanna hear these run now Big grin
