No, still got my yellow one, it's very very fast but not as much fun as my red one was, or martins looks to be. Posted this on my other thread last night and when I should have put it on this one. Thanks for the comments, The spec of the car is as follows Std engine apart from PT81's as yet unmapped. Was dyno'd before the cams went in at 169bhp reckon its about 175bhp at the moment. Weight 1020kg's Front suspension - 4deg neg camber,Avo coilovers running 450lb springs.Taper roller bottom arms. Rear suspension - Bigger torsion bars 23mm I think,30mm ARB from Ash (In my opinion the best single mod you can do to a six) 3mm neg camber,Bilstein Tarmac dampers, Solid beam mounts. Tyres 215/45/17 AO48's Brakes 305mm bell mounted discs with Prodrive/Alcon calipers. To be dead honest I felt this year the car was lacking grip, even though it was warm I didn't feel as thought I was getting enough heat into the tyres. They were new when I went and they still look new 20 laps later. This maybe down to the fact that this tyre is only available in medium compound when running 17". They year before I ran 15" Dunlop Direzza's and these worked fine gave me loads more grip and looked like they were working. Thanks again for the comments. cheers Martin ________________________________________ Quote "da g man!" "You've only got to watch the "306 vs ringtaxi" video & you soon realise how good these mod's are! Admittedly, the guy is an awesome driver, but it just go's to show how well these cars can handle with the right modification's |

Hi Maxi not seen you on here before, how yer going? To answer your question, not sure where I'm going with the white car yet, I've still got that engine I built a few years ago and I'm tempted to put that in and go racing as most of my mates that all started doing track days the same time as me have done, but then my car will be a race car rather than the car I built to enjoy driving to the Ring.I've recently bought a fully prepped 306 shell off Pistonheads which I think will be my new project. I've got a 400bhp Mazda Rotary engine on a FWD 406 V6 box which could go in this but as with everyone time limits what your want to do and I'm putting a lot of time into white car at the moment. Pete, thanks for the advice and comments, I must say when | found your lap on Youtube earlier this year I thought this is how I needed to go at the Ring. I'd done a 8.38 but your lap was noticeably faster. Watching your commitment through Flugplatz nearly caused me a big off as I thought "if someone else in a six can do it flat so can I". I've got some footage going through Flugplatz flat doing everything right and loosing the back end momentarily,it makes my arse twitch every time I watch it . I'm a bit bored of being out BHP'd at the Ring now and have vowed next time I go I'll be taking another 100bhp with me. It probably wont make that much difference lap time wise but I probably wont have to try as hard to redress the balance with the faster cars in the corners. Cheers Martin. ________________________________________ Quote "da g man!" "You've only got to watch the "306 vs ringtaxi" video & you soon realise how good these mod's are! That's awesome Martin. I can just imagine the occupants faces of that ring taxi as a silly little white Pug drives past them!!I remember you three wheeling past me on one of my first laps of the place. Impressive lap Martin and you couldn't have wished for a better video having the M5 ring taxi included.I think you ruined their ride as the driver didn't showboat at all like Sabine did when we went round in the taxi "maximum sideways yar!" You appeared to do a 8:49 so I can well believe an 8:38 without holdups. Thanks for the mention for the 30mm ARB's, I use one on my race 306 and so does Pete. I've just had an order from Spoox for some 1" 206 and 309 bars, so if anyone wants a 30mm ARB for their 306 I could get them made at the same time, |

vid is pretty good. putting aside everyone going on about how much better the 306 is than all the other exotica on the 'ring it does show just how good the 6 still is still amazes me how slow it looks compared to the M5 etc though. they go past like it's not even moving! i really need to get to the 'ring.... girlfriend says she'll pay for me for my 30th, but that's not till December 2009 ________________________________________ ---James Hamilton james@roodbwoy.com Photo Website quote: Lexus lights do not fit on a GTi6.
