Can someone take a picture of one for me please? just found the actuator rattling on mine with the compensator seized in the fully on position (ie fully compensating for extra weight). I think there's a spring missing from around the actuator, but would like a picture of a working setup to compare, if possible. Cheers. ________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |

hmm. looks exactly as mine did. I unseized it and took the actuator off completely, because there was nothing returning it to the off position, and as it goes over bumps it would only end up being sat on full anyway.there's a big spring pushing the valve into the fuly on position, and a smaller spring pulling it the same way, but I can't see anythin to move it to the off position when the back of the car is unloaded. ________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |

Its the nut on the end of the shaft at the rhs that moves it to "the off position"________________________________________ Get used to seeing the yellow one !!!Team 330™ Team "no front end or engine" Team "LIMITED EDITION" I live for the 306 sticker Team 0-60 in 6.44 & standing qtr in 14.808 @ 94.55mph all with std engine 203bhp Corolla T-Sport daily driver stealthier than Kwai Chang Caine |

wouldn't it make sense for that nut to be against the other side of the arm when the spring is fully decompressed then? Mine was fully decompressed, with the suspension sitting high (the back of my car seems to ride unusually high for some reason) and it was rattling around, not operating at all.________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |

not entirely sure how it works but I think hydraulic pressure with the valve unloaded makes it close.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

hmm. that could be it. either way with the spring and rod assembly completely removed from my car the thing handles and drives so much better! For the first time I'm able to feel the passive rear steering of the car, I need less steering input to go round corners than I used to, the car accelerates quicker and the brakes at the front at least) feel more responsive. I wonder if it being stuck on was causing my rear brakes to bind slightly. perhaps now that it's unseized from the fully on position it'll stay like that if I refit the rod/spring gizmos. will try that tomorrow.________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |

Mega revivalErm, just went to free up my compensator and the main rod thing that goes through it appears to be completely missing, just the flappy springy bit there. I should be concerned, shouldn't i? ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Ahh ya f*cker. Do all 306's have them, even ones with drums? What's it doing at the minute then? It was seized solid and i worked it free, have I just sent all the bias to the rear now? EDIT I have also deduced from picture evidence that it appears to have been missing since at least November last year. Could that explain why the brakes have felt shit for a while despite several bleeds? ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

I hope that you have better luck with yours than I did mine. I ended up with a new one as it was the only way I could get my rear brakes to show on an MOT machine.________________________________________ Ex SC-6Now in a Megane R26 |

Any idea if the rod can be left off on a lowered car. I was wondering if I could lock the compensator into a position that would suit track use?________________________________________ Liverpool Motor Club Sprint champion 2017Longton & District Motor Club Sprint champion 2017 Liverpool Motor Club Sprint champion 2016 Liverpool Motor Club Sprint champion 2015 Lancashire & Cheshire Speed Championship Winner 2014 2nd 2013 Winner 2012 2nd 2011 Winner 2010 Winner 2009 Winner 2008 Winner 2007 2nd 2006. |
