Yeah that sounds good, what kind of price?

Also the car has a full magnex and no cat so not sure if that would make much difference.

With those cams you have do you know how much work is involved and what kind of power would you get with Throttle Bodies?

I did'nt realise this at first when I offered you the cams but they won't be any good to you unless you can find a set of solid lifters, they are pretty mild too, similar to a PT 81 I believe so if you go to the trouble of rebuilding the head fitting solid followers etc. you would probably want to fit something a bit more lairy, of course that means pocketed pistons...

As for the map, I was thinking £80. I just need to power up my ECU and link it to a laptop to retrieve the MAP. As far as exhaust spec thats pretty close as I was running a Scorpion with decat at the time too. Max RPM was 7,200 which was where it was mapped to as well.

I went over to Carls @ Leicester today and brought a set of 306 BTCC magnesium wheels which I have been searching for ages now.

Major update - Carl Chambers has been hard at work.

New OMP steering wheel fitted

Jenvey Manifold fitted onto engine

Jenvey 45's fitted onto Manfold

With the proper airbox the washer bottle neck was in the way as you can see in the picture below

So Carl came up with this to replace the washer bottle

Oil catch tank fitted with breather

Bonnet cut to allow space for the airbox - do people think I should cut the rest of the bonnet?

Thanks to Carl for all the hard work Wink

because the throttle bodies Dave bought should have been for a Vauxhall! I was going to turn it around but then the screws to release the cover would be on the underside and impossible to get to once the rad goes in!

Decent airfeed through the wing there anyway. Not so bad to move the PAS and sort the washer bottle. Looks really good guys!

If you do cut the bonnet, let me know how much weight you take out Wink

if you cut the whole bonnet apart like i did with mine you can expect it to weigh 7kg tops with pins Yes flimsy though, and needs 4 pins minimum

Ah ok Thumbs up

Where'd the mani come from? You buy it separately from Jenvey or make your own?

The manifold came direct from Jenvey, the throttle bodies I purchased from ebay (they were new but set up for a Vauxhall Manifold hence why they would not bolt directly on)

Carl soon sorted this out

the pas bottle is now a washer bottle if you look closely, the washer pump is on the bottom pipe and top pipe is blank off. Daves car was already running electric pas from a 106 from when it was supercharged!

original washer bottle removed and cold air feed will come up through where it was direct from the o/s fog light hole.

i cut my bonnet like this;

not sure of its weight but its light enough to only need 1 bonnet strut to lift it and still nice and strong around the edges, so does not flap or need bonnet pins

More update from Carl Chambers

I said to him I think it would be better to cut the other side to match the side he has already cut, which he has done I was going to get him to cut all metal like he did to his but its risky not to wreck the paint and stickers on the bonnet

Primed

Throttle Cable bracket from a 205 GTi

New fuel pipes connected to fuel rail, just need Jenvey to send the fuel housing holder

Omex loom before any work (this has ford plugs fitted as it was purchased second hand)

Here is the standard loom before it chopped into

I hope we have some good luck with the wiring then we need to get a map sorted and then a quick tune on a rolling road to set the Throttle Bodies up

This is the bit off the standard wiring loom that is not needed

Here is a wiring hell as described by GKZ_206 lol

Progress is finally being made so it does not seem far away before hopefully the engine can be started, good work Carl
