Well my fronts were totally rusted so just rounded off, ordered some brake lines and unions. Im just going to put the join in the wheel arch as well to save me having to run the line all the way through the engine bay :thumsup________________________________________ 1997 Black GTi6smithers205 at hotmail.com |

was wondering earlier what the original pipes were made from, they look steel, and they also look narrower than the copper pipe like above on iplay`s car.if it is steel then it may be trouble using the smaller flaring tool on it. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

The original ones are steel. You will not do steel with either of the tools you linked to. The Sealey one is really easy to use and can be used with the pipe on the car (copper or cupro-nickel).________________________________________ Ex SC-6Now in a Megane R26 |

yeah ive done mine the same as neil also, keeping all the original springs and rubbber bits. ill post a pic up.i removed the union nut from the braded pipe yesterday by puttting the mole grips between the shock and the innerwing/bulkhead, the change of angle got a better griop and cracked it undone. looks like i will have to change the whole pipe then. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |
