I had a Maniflow on my old A serie engined Mini. They have a very good rep in the miniworld I believe.

Bono - it was £580, not too bad I thought.

Forgot to add, I fitted the new brakes yesterday and ran the braided lines throughout the car. Just need fluid adding and bleeding now.
The fronts:

I forgot to take a pic of the lines, will do that when i'm in there next.

And the boot pins:

Oh and as for the interior and engine bay spraying... it took rather a few cans!

And finally a finished piston!

Are these pics any good?

It's a bit tight round the back, but may be able to get other angles when I next get underneath it if they're not.

Picked up some more bits on Friday to finish the brake lines (will get some pics of it all at the weekend), connectors for fuel lines and other farty little bits and pieces.
Oh and a new battery Big grin

Bought a Dremel last week which made much lighter work of finishing the boot pins and cut as much of the inner boot skin out as I could.

Then moved on to the bonnet pins. Well chuffed with the end result of them, they look ace...

Then went nuts with the dremel and started cutting out all the passenger door internals and metal.

Didn't get time to finish that though, will do that when it's back from Cornwall.

First cut to the bonnet :?

Lightened flywheel

Then took the car back down to Colins on Sunday, so the engine can be finished and put in. I'll be going down to help on Fri/Sat so more updates then I expect.

Ordered the stack guages today too which should turn up tomorrow Big grin

Still the 1.8 head, but has had the touch of Mark Shillaber!

Weight, uhm I really don't know. I've done everything I possibly can within the regs to cut it down to as low as poss. Sub 1T would be good.
Will be set up on corner weights once the engine is in in a week or two and will find out then.

Power wise, another sort of unknown. But 220-230 is I think a reasonable tarket as we are looking for a good usable spread of power and engine durability too. Rev limit of about 8.5k.
Again hopefully know in 2 weeks.

Why don't you just buy an angle grinder for the door skins, Itl be better for the Dremel

Oh I don't plan on doing the whole door with the dremel, just had a few mins spare and cut out a couple of bits with the hacksaw and dremel so I could pull all the window motor etc out.
I don't have an angle grinder, hense why it's at that state for now. Will get round to chopping the rest out and then cover with some light door cards when I have time.

More bits turned up yesterday:

And I'm now a fully fledged racing driver (aparently!) lol

Sorry the updates have be few and far between, been up to my eyeballs with work and the car. A brief (ish) update of the progress over the past 2 or 3 weeks…

Managed to find the gearbox I've been looking for on ebay a week or so ago so I can rob the Final Drive from it.
So one night after work I went up to Manchester and back to pick it up. Yes I did say Manchester!!

Been to Merlins (yes, again!) and picked up yet more bits:
New SPA plumbed in fire extinguisher (easier and almost same price as sending off my Lifeline one to be refilled!).
Neck brace.
Reflective material to line the exhaust tunnel and stop my shoes melting.
Novice sticker, door numbers (83) and tow stickers etc.

Picked up the Wheels and tyres last week:

Lightweight 17"x7.5 Team Dynamics Pro race wheels (as used by the BTCC I think) with buffed 225/35/17 Falcon tyres.

Due to the timing getting very close to the race I’ve been driving down to cornwall to help as much as I can and finish off the stuff I needed to do so when it come back it’ll be ready for the race. Went down just over a week ago by myself, then last weekend dragged a mate with me for 2 days and even managed to convince the other half to come with me yesterday to T-cut, polish and fit the stickers!

Anyway, here’s a few updated pics to get some idea. Not all cos I’ve taken hundreds at various stages…

Trial fit of the wheels:

Studs and tapered nuts for them turned up today so can get them on properly.

Gauges fitted:

Dash panel:

Brackets for bias valve and kill switch:

Reflective material in exhaust tunnel so I don’t melt my shoes!:

External pull cables mounted:

Small baffled fuel tank to sit beneath the boot:

And some of the stickers on:

I’ve also fitted the fire extinguisher, harnesses and other bits inside but forgot to take pics of those.
