No I managed to leave the handbrake in cornwall. doh!
So need to get up to the scrappy to get a new one. Hopefully they've got one up at Jones' as could do with some window winders too.

Anyone know if the handbrake or manual window winders were the same in any other cars?

Ah good man! Look forward to hearing an update on that on TT then.

If you could pick it up please mate that would be real handy, I'll have a check and see if I've left anything else down there in the mean time too and give you a buz before hand.
Cheers.

Unfortunately I didn't get to spend as much time as I'd have hoped to work on the car over the xmas brake but I did a bit.

I whipped the engine out to start spraying the engine bay.

Found yet more of that crappy tar sound deadening in the scuttle panel area so heated that up and scraped it out. Came to exactly 1kg!

Then started spraying up the engine bay.

And a quick before and after:

The subframe had already been removed, shot blasted and painted black. So all looks dapper in there now.
This weekend I'll hopefully get a chance to start spraying the interior if I can get away from tiling the kitchen! Sad

Yup - Hammerite Smooth Smile Saves a lot of time and money having to scrub, prime then paint it.
Just spray/paint straight on. Big grin
The floor is actually brushed on! quicker, cheaper, easier and also seems a bit harder wearing. Looks just as good as spray too.

Went to Merlins and did a bit of shopping yesterday Big grin

Alpinestars GP2 suit
Alpinestars Tech 1-Z Gloves
Alpinestars Tech 1-T Boots

And the bonnet pins/catches:

Also wanted to get the harnesses while I was there but they didn't have them in. And found they don't stock the Stack guages I'm after so more searching tomorrow.

Did a bit more painting today too, having to spray it in lots of thin layers otherwise its just getting too damp in the cold and not drying if it's too thick. Sad

Yeah. I will probably still be fitting a passenger seat in for track days but havn't fitted a bar for that to save weight, will just bolt the passenger harness to the floor.

Looking good mate, any idea how many cans you've used to paint the interior, doing the cage will use loads of paint. Should be a cracking racer when its all finished.

At the moment, one tin and 6 spray cans. But it's not finished yet, needs another coat.
