It was just too big. I like the look of it like that better. would of been a right arse to mount it as original and had to cut so much off to make it fit and it looked crap

so another day.

I stripped out the pedals and subframe.
Gave it a quick clean and good as new

As I was cleaning the underside I noticed the towing eye weld had broken at the top so I set about sorting that out.

I ground off the old weld then put it in th right position

And with the welding done as good as new

I brought some weld in nuts ages ago to use as earths in the car and I welded them in to.
One is under the dash, one went on the tunnel near the brace and one went in the boot near the back of the cage.

I might do a little bit tomorrow see how i feel when i get up if not will be day after boxing day.

Right well progress on puggy has stopped as I have been in bed ill for about a week. Gutted really.
Hope to get a couple of days prep done this weekend.
One good bit of news is that my trailing arms are finished. Martin will be sending them back soon. He is a top bloke and I will be investing in a set of his top mounts.

Well I havent done anything at all on the car, but got a big parcel big thanks to Martin.

and inside was my machined trailing arms

Look very well done so cant wait to get them all back together and on the car with the new ARB and TB's

Also got this today, bit of an ebay bargian

I have also ordered a spacer to go with the boss as I want to keep the horn push and also think the closer the wheel is the better.

So a quick update.

Have done next to nothing on the car the past month due to illness and me not likeing the idea of hours and hours of prepping and rubbing down, but I did get my self a random orbital sander which should help. I really need to get on it soon so probably this week or next.

Anyways the goodies are still being brought

and they include

A race battery and cage

they where purchased from the Autosport show along with this, saves me making one up

I am going to run a connector under the bonnet somewhere just so its easier to jump or get in if the battery goes flat.

I also am going to replace my cut off switch for a FIA approved one as it just seems safer.

I also brought this from tweeks while i was at the show

And for the snap off boss I brought a spacer and the extended bolts needed, the spacer was 20 quid and the bolts where about a fiver, both from ebay.

And now for something that is gorgeous

Hopefully that will keep my cool in the summer.

take it it is just universal fit, and not car specific?

So fitted the scoop today. Standing on a step ladder with jigsaw in hand cutting a hole is proper scary, mess it up and new roof skin.

But thankfully it was the right side.

I started by putting the underside part in the right place and marking it out

then made a template and marked out the hole

I drilled holes in all the corners so it gave me a reference on the top and marked out the hole on the roof

then the hole was cut out

I then cleaned it all up with pre paint and keyed up the paint with some 240 grit paper.

The bottom part was really easy to fit put the tiger seal on put it in the right place and prop up with a 2x4.

The top scoop that was a whole other ball ach.

But with a few clamps ratchet straps and small bits of wood I got this.

and the inner one
