There always have been, they were from the first batch Razz
There's about 15 out in the wild IIRC (well, maybe 14 and one boomerang-shaped one....Ninja)

Only 1 of the new style ones though and that's on my car Wink Smile

As Phil is on the edge of the lower braces I won't bother him, but I have a friend who is specialised in suspension products - like anti roll bars for older cars which doesn't have rear bars, especially when they are raced; and he does strut braces for the Xsaras too. There was no brace available for the ph.2 before, as with OMP you can't use the bonnet prop as it fools on the brace.

He also does a brace fore the ph.1 Xsara, which is only the copy of the OMP by now - but he isn't happy with the design as "it could have been a lot better" so he'll make his own shaped soon.

It uses a lot more solid material, and the finish is better than the on OMPs, additionally you can order it in just about any colour from the RAL scale!

I have a brace on my ph.2 and also on the VTS and they make huge improvement! Cornering speed is improved, and the oversteer is reduced.

So, if there's interest I can persuade him to make one for the 306 GTI-6 / Rallye!

At the first step it can be the copy of the OMP, or if he can find a 6 locally he would just design one. (but finding a 6 could be an issue here...)

Go for it, I've given up on a top brace as ever since the appearance of the cheap ones on ebay I can't even make them for what they are selling them for, bah.

Don't make a copy of the OMP lower one though LOL

well we won't as they don't fit right - foul the sump, ain't?

to be honest... copying is not the kind of thing he wants to do, but as he can't find a GTI-6 locally there won't be any other opportunity!

same with the VTS really! This kind of things would need a car for a couple of days. Measure, measure, fabricate the prototype, measure, change... fabricate etc...

Hello guys, finally I got here...
Thank you vts_tibi offering me here, I would need a volunteer who could test/try/measure for me and give his/her hand for making the BEST strut brace for pugs as well. ( I already developed one w/CXOC guys for Xsara ph2, which is not available elsewhere on the Planet). We would be in touch directly. I do not want to evaluate mine, check it on

the prize is a free strut brace in requested color

Fitting is easy:

Jack up car and support both sides.
Unbolt struts.
Place strutbrace in place.
Line up holes carefully, you may need to adjust nut to get them all to line up.
Carefully bolt the brace in postion. (It is quite easy to strip the threads, so don't over tighten)
Turn nut so you are trying to push the struts away from each other, don't go mad.
Lock the nuts in place.
Lower the car back down and enjoy.

Does the car have to be jacked up when fitting?

Hey Csaba, how is it going? Big grin

Guys, you should take this guy seriously, as his strut brace is just awsome!
As I said before, it makes the OMP look like a toy!

And it not only looks better, but it stiffens the front more than with the OMP.

I have his braces on my two Xsaras (ph.1 and ph.2) and the difference is incredible!

And the free brace offer is real... Just ask me, I've got two braces from free as I helped him LOL Whistle
