internet says its best to have the drivers weight/normal fuel tank fill while getting your ride/suspension setup, and an even level side to side is good

internet also says its even better is to use mechanics scales under each wheel and look at weight distribution, and an even weight distirbution side to side trumps a level ride height?

is this the case?

ive just had coilovers fitted (height adjust only) and a new driver side swingarm+bushes n balljoint.....left it to settle for a few days and ive set it so when im in the driver seat the front is as level as i can tell by eye with a tape measure. but when im out the car the difference side to side on the front is about 5mm.....

is this ok? feels ok.

secondly and a bit more annoyingly. The mechanics told me the driver side rear suspension arm is set lower that the other by about 10mm (one spline). i can confirm this is the case although its more like 5-6mm when the cars on the ground...... Sad

so my question specfically about the rear torsion bar setup is.....should it be set to even heights or have the drivers side a little higher to compensate for the drivers weight?

beam should be set level.

10mm is not "one spline"

thanks for the quick reply.

its been a while since ive tackled a rear torsion beam and cant quite remember how many splines equates to what travel. i only remember a lot of messing about to get them even.

so torsion beam setup does differ to the regular? i.e. my front setup methods ok?

sorry about all these questions. im just wondering out the faff to fix it all. As i still really need my tracking done after the suspension change, but ill need to fix my rear spline situation first and then re-adjust my fronts as the rear will effect them im guessing.

my only method of measuring is a tape measure and ride height atm, is it worth taking it to someone with a set of scales or other equipment when i get finally the tracking done?

When was last time axle was rebuilt? Far too many times I have put right uneven ride height on owners cars. A dummy shock is the more accurate way of setting equally

not in over ten years Smile i dont think.

as they are uneven i imagine someone has tinkered in the past, wether they replaced the bushes etc in unknown.

they dont seem to have lean angle or any play/noises so guess they're somewhat ok.

i never go by spline, just set the dummy damper.

10 years the seals will be tired at the very least, for the cost of them i'd strip and replace the bearings even if it hasnt gone anywhere.
