my gti will pop and crackle in the exhaust sometimes, sounds kinda nice but i know it means something isnt right.

usually when changing gears combined with spirited driving.

i guess its some form of either incomplete burn or overfueling issue

just wondering what could be causing it.

so far my thoughts are either

1. fuel pump is old/low pressure so poor spray pattern
2. injectors are partially clogged/dirty so poor spray pattern
3. injectors are faulty/leaking so poor spray pattern and excess leakage when closed.

just wondering if theres anything else ive missed?
or some oversight into the issue?

the car is a little grumbly/stuttery for the first 20-30 seconds from cold. other than that she seems fine
