Hi all,

I just got my GTI back from bodyshop (pics will follow later). The car stood still for 3 years...

Now the battery light is illuminated and the aircon running when the ignition is off and the key is removed.

Anyone any idea what can cause this and how to solve it?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Joep, I would assume it is the ignition barrel. Try unplugging it first.

Is it only the aircon running or everything like on key position 1? If only aircon it could also be a stuck relay.

It is only the aircon that keeps running. But, it shuts down after a while... I have the impression this is dependent on the outside temperature.

I can try that one. Have a spare at home.
