Can someone remind me the process to test the speedo and rev counter dials?

I have done this test before. I remember it involves pulling a fuse and when pull back in the dials move in unison to the maximum range then drop back to zero, but I can’t seem to remember the whole process and just pulling fuses doesn’t work!

Thanks!

I already know the rev counter isn’t working and I’m trying to locate the issue. I suspect it is the loom somewhere but wanted to double check the dial on the clocks still works first and I know there is a method to do this test.

You tried disconnecting the battery, waiting five then reconnecting?

My phase 1 XSI had an engine swap (RFS fitted) and had issues with the rev counter. The cause of it not working was the BMC CDA slamming against the connectors at the front near the radiator. Now the BMC CDA is fixed to the gearbox, I have my rev counter back working.

Is it the same for all phases?
