Finally decided to get my box stripped down by the gearbox guru miles at pug racing.

These are the KAD racing straight cut 3rd and 4th gear set that I got part of a group buy on the gti6 forum that was arranged by Ash Hargreaves.

The gear box lasted a few months before I destroyed second gear, the straight cut gears only had about 500 miles use if that in my circa 500bhp supercharged gti6

Miles has inspected them and has reported back to me that they are good with no damage.

Since I destroyed this gearbox rich w managed to get KAD to design and manufacture some updated bearings (reports of the original bearings binding up after they got hot)
Peter Dodds has this same gearset and the updated bearings fitted and as far as I am aware still going strong.

I originally paid £900 for these so I think £600 is fair considering the little use they had.
