Hello guys,Quick question if I may? Had a trawl through the forum but can’t find anything! Been some crappy weather down here of late! Got in the car this morning and the drivers seatbelt is soaked. I’ve checked the door and window seals and that’s all dry, any ideas? |

Whereabouts on the seatbelt is actually wet? Sounds a bit strange if nothing else is wet. Seatbelts are one of the first places mould grows when the interior is damp or closed up for a while (along with seats and steering wheel). Are you certain the belt us definitely wet and doesn't just feel cold/damp?Are your carpets dry? ________________________________________ 1999 GTi-6 (china blue)1999 Rallye (black) |

Yup all dry, it’s just the drivers belt that’s wet.Seats carpets all dry as well as trim. |

Definitely the part of the belt that rolls up behind the trim. Just can’t think how water got in there? As far as I can tell the rear quarter window seal is okay as the rest of the back of the car is dry.. Might consider taking a deeper look in that seal or behind the trim then.. |

I'd also suggest the window seal to begin with or possibly leaking through the side strips.Might be worth getting the rear quarter door card thing off and then getting someone outside with a hose whilst you sit inside. Could it possibly be a slug got in,Or a random belt licker got in some how , Perhaps there’s a tiny mouse using the belt ratchet as a latrine Perhaps you had a really sweaty drive last time and forgot how wet you got Perhaps someone is trying to knock you off and is slowly dissolving your belt with water over a very long and undiscoverable amount of time Perhaps there’s a ghost and it’s not water but ectoplasm leaking out after paranormal contact Just a few things to consider , Just in case you run out of ideas !!!!!  ________________________________________ BLACK RALLYE - phoenixWHITE RALLYE - valliant http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/ https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history |

Haha a really sweaty drive... nice!Cheers all, looks like removing the inner trim is on the cards then! That’ll add to the rattles the interior trim already makes!! |
