Hi I’ve blind brought a car it’s currently doesn’t start the current owner believes it’s fuel. I was going to crank it over with the fuel pump relay disconnected to get some oil pressure. Anything else I should do before I try to start it ? Also is it worth using a engine flush before I service it. That’s if its not a dud I’ve bought ?

Personally I’d squirt a tiny amount of oil in the bores., turn over with the plugs out as well so no load. Then plugs in and crank till oil pressure shows and then fire up.

also, make sure the oil hasnt picked up any Water content from condensation, check the dipstick for any water above the oil line, or failing that drain the oil.

personally I would probably drain whatever (over) 4 year old s**te is in it before trying to turn it anyways, throw some cheapy tesco 10w40 in and then change it for some nicer stuff after its run for a little bit.

old oil tends to sludge up when sat, and the sludge will sink to the bottom.

Struggling to start this :-( got fuel to the rail been though cleaned the plugs. It’s not even trying to start, what does the imboliser imboilise ? Found the earth to the body was missing and the earth to the fuse box on the passengers wing wasn’t connected. But still nothing. Any ideas going to try new plugs and order a compression tester. Has always any help or ideas appreciated

Are you getting spark while turning the engine over??
if you are try squirting some starter fluid at it and see if it will run off that.

not familiar with how the immobilisers work. Think it cuts fuel pump, from the 30 seconds i spent on google?

injectors might just be stuck closed if you are getting spark and fuel??

see if you can get it running with some starter fluid/brake clean Smile
