I have no alarm on my car...well no lights flash anyway when I press the button, also, is the range on the fobs bad? I have to stand right next to the door to get my fob to open it-I’ve just gone old skool and used the key instead

It's a '98 so I believe it will have an IR key system, in which case yes you will need to be right by the door, preferably pointing the key at the rear view mirror area to get it unlocked/locked. ![]() ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone ![]() |

Yes, it’s a 98 and the fob just seems to lock/unlock, no flashing lights etc. There are sensors on top of the pillars inside so I presume it has got an alarm. Is there a way of disabling them? |

Is there a way of disabling them? With the car unlocked, if you press the big button and the car locks and then you press the small button it should deadlock the car AND put the alarm on including flashing the indicators once. Then when you unlock the car next time using the big button, it will unlock, de-alarm and flash the indicators 5 times. Cheers, Stan. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone ![]() |

Hmm, my key only has one button 🙁 strange. In my owners handbook it shows a key with 2 buttons, I thought mine might just be a different model of alarm or something. |

There are 2 button IR remotes but I dont' know if they were used with any 306. The later phase 3 key fobs had two buttons but were RF. The 306 phase 2 IR remotes I know have one button. EDIT: I think the one button IR remotes are common in Europe and the two button IR ones in the UK because of the (standard fitted?) deadlock option. |
