Thing is I cant get under it to check for my self but the garage said they think its coming from an area where PTFE has been put on some thread.

I just realised if the RAM is knackered then presumably I cant replace with a VTS rack anyway?

No as the lock to lock is restricted by the ram. I've found if it's not the ram leaking it's usually the 2 high pressure pipes from rack to ram that leak.

rack wont be leaking, it'll be the ram or the pinion valve or the pipes, the rack just has grease in it.

The high pressure pipes can still be bought new from pug. I bought a few for around £30 the pair.

Are the high pressure ones the very short ones? What about the long ones.

Mechanic is looking at it now and said the pipe with the damper in it is fecked.
What one is that..
