I'm not looking too spend on a brand new one like omp £700 😑 So I'm thinking of making my own, I have a mate who is a fabricator but could do with some help with measurements ? Or ideas etc so I can get the materials and make it so it's easy to get in and out of etc obviously the car is stripped and buckets in etc so any help will be much appricated 👍🏻👍🏻

i hope they've sorted the profiles and bends out since i got mine if you do get stuff off them!

long story: got the challenge spec one, added extra roof and dash bars and some other bracing, and the fit was terrible. bends were miles out. complained, s**t customer service, and was told nobody had ever complained about them before since they'd started making them despite there being an 8" gap between the pillar profile bends and roof. also never sent me my certification stuff back in the post for reasons unbeknown to me despite providing everything they required.

phillipm sorted it all out, remade half of it in T45 and stitch-welded it all to the shell and made it pretty

Agreed; wouldn't go custom cages route otherwise you'll end up remaking half of it. Not like they're cheap in the first place. Any decent cage, plus fab time can easily run into 4 figures.
Doing it yourself could be an option, but it's a big commitment, even when you know exactly what you're doing.

Yep, would have been cheaper just to make it from scratch. They have rejigged since...but I think people were still having issues with dashbars, etc (Daveyboy maybe?)
