Hi Guys,

I'm going to be replacing all 4 tyres at some point when it gets a bit warmer.

I've got Toyo Proxies on there which i have heard are rather bad?

I'm thinking of dropping down to 195 50 15 and getting Pilot sport 3's all round. (running cyclones)
i have heard that PS3's are pretty much the best for everything but ice.

any better options or opinions? Big grin

Can't go far wrong with pilot sport 3, more track oriented ad08r is good.

given how cheap the ps3 is and how long they last its not worth cheaping out.

Ok, what do you suggest then? my proxies have been the gripiest tyres i have ever had on a car. (coming from proper budget crap on much slower cars)

this is my daily driver so i want something that's going to perform all year round. proxies haven't been bad to me!

again this is my daily driver so i want a nice street tyre.

i agree with not skimping out on tyres, they are the only things keeping you away from that ditch at the end of the day!

so PS3s are the way to go?

(sorry, i meant tyres in the title.... it was late.... Thumbs down )

ive got AD08R's from Yokohama - seem decent and a good blend of track grip and on road performance (not amazing in the wet) and very noisy tho

Goodyear Eagle F1's are a similar alternative. Although I think ps3's are a bit cheaper, hence why I am running them now.

Tyres are very dependent on many different factors. Some can have different experiences which can be down to characteristics of the car rather than tyre so some may say one tyre is better but someone else may say the opposite. But ultimately, we can all agree, T1-r's are s**te, PS3's are a very good road tyre for what we want. Personally, the Eagle F1 is on par with the PS3.

I ran Ps3's last year on my track car once i wore my r888's out. I normally run them for the wet but seemed to do really well - not on the same level as a semi slick but certainly no complaints as of yet

Definitely do not run ad08rs on a daily driver, they are not good in standing water and they won't have the same life as a road tyre.

If you are on a budget and would prefer to spend mid-range money rather than premium tyre money, uniroyal rainsport 3s are good in the wet and ok in the dry for a daily driver. I would suggest spending more for PS3s as the others have suggested though. Good tyres are a good investment.

Other good tyres for road use are the Dunlop sport, and the newer Dunlop Sport BluResponse. I've been very happy with these - good grip in wet and dry, last well too.
