Any recommendations for a decent trolley jack? I have a challenge xtreme 2 tonne, but it doesn't fill me with confidence when getting to the point of getting an axle stand under, it seems to lean... I just want one I can slide under and whack it up and not have to worry every inch if it's gonna give way... the min height of my axle stands are 270mm________________________________________ 98 Blaze 6 - Current |

I've always found it difficult find anywhere to jack it up in the first place! However i agree, i have a Halfrauds one and its a bit sketchy at full extension |

I use the steel one that costco sell, it's a heavy bit of kit but it's not let me down yet.________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

Yeah my sill points seem to be holding strong so far so jacking up on them then stands under subframe. Ah cool that does look good, 3 tonne and lifts to 50cm should be more than enough, thanks ![]() ________________________________________ 98 Blaze 6 - Current |

I bought this one last year with 20% off code. I like it because it slides under my lowered car and also lifts to 500mm.Machine Mart ________________________________________ 1999 GTi-6 (china blue)1999 Rallye (black) |

https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/ctj3000g-3-tonne-professional-garage-j/ had one of these for years now, doesn't go under stupid low cars, but I haven't got any of those and I don't often come across any, always got some bits of 2x4 I can stick under the tyres to lift the cars enough for a jack if needed. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

I'd buy one of these If I was looking for purely cars.https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-ctj2qlp-2-tonne-quick-lift-low-profile/ but I have worked on vans and very large cars which can often be 2 ton empty so a 3 ton jack is more suited to my use. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

oliverharveyuk@hotmail.co.uk wrote: Any recommendations for a decent trolley jack? I glad you asked as I was just about to start the same thread. I'v got a cheap jack, one wheel broke off while the car was off the floor !!!! I like this one - https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-ctj1250ab-1-25-tonne-aluminium-racing-j/ No reason other than it being a light version, so matches the Rallye ![]() |

Going on the recommendations looks like I'll go for the Sealey 3290CX as it seems to be the cheapest, lightest to carry with decent lift height and is a brand I recognise ![]() ![]() ![]() ________________________________________ 98 Blaze 6 - Current |

i side with welshpug. I have the same jack as his and never had a problem getting it under a 6. However if your building a race car or something stupidly low, i would go for the clarke hes listed. as my clarke jack has never gone wrong and lifts my navara with ease. ________________________________________ 1997 ph1 bianca GTI6 - The looker1996 ph1 Sigma GTI6 - Dead ![]() 1999 Red Rallye - The Daily 2005 Nissan Navara D40 - Family car 1968 Mustang Coupe - The dirty little secret Put ya foot down, put ya foot down we'll loose em easy! |

Yeah weight of it is a bit of an issue for me though, I live in a 3rd storey flat so will need to carry it up and down 3 sets of stairs to work on my car, so the extra 10kg for the 3ton clark would make it bloody hard work... Otherwise I woulda went for that for the extra lift ________________________________________ 98 Blaze 6 - Current |
