Has anyone used these yet? How do they compare to the competition. I used the old r888 and was happy enough with those but long story short I was looking ever towards the Dunlop dz03 or yoko a048'but have the opportunity to get the r888r at half the price of the dz03's which seem to be the tyre of the moment but at about £70 a corner for the r888r's there very tempting |

I know one person I race with went from DZ03Gs to R888Rs and didn't like them, although we think he might have had the pressures a bit low.My suggestion with this always is, buy them and try them. If they're crap, run them until they die and buy something else!  ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

I can get them at cost through my work From recommendation id go dz03 but they can't get hold of them so makes it double the price |

My friend got them for about £230 cheaper than DZ03Gs but is considering going back.From my anecdotal experience, stick with Dunlops. But, definitely worth a try if you can get them cheap ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

You could give Nankang AR-1's a try Si, i've switched to them since the old style R888 and rate them better than the old R888 personally. Cheaper too last time i looked  ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

I'll have a look, where did you get yours? Couldn't find many of the track tyres in 205 40 17. Cheapest I can find a set of r888r was 595 on the bay of e. I have used Nanking AR-1 tyres on my race car this year. They were a country mile better than the Federals that came on the car but seriously looking at going for a set of 888R's for next season as loads of people are using them and saying how good the grip is. The AR-1's are great when it is really hot but start understeering after a 15 min race; front pressures up from 18 5to 28psi; rears start at 34psi and go up to 40 ! ________________________________________ Adventure before Dementia !! |
