Peugeot/citroen kit is about £30 for both sides with the large black seals, however if you need bearings chances are you need the shafts too so might as well buy the full kit ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Hi guys, what is the seal 'C' for in the diagram ('B' in second pic) and where does it belong? It is contained in the OEM bearing kit 5132.62 for 'IMPROVED SUSPENSION' but not in the kit 5131.45 for 'XU/XUD AND NORMAL SUSPENSION' so it should be fitted in an GTI6 axle, I guess? EDIT: s**t, forgot the pics... miki4 has attached the following image: |

Never seen that either on any pic of rear beam rebuilds. Weird. But there are two SNR kits available. One is KS559.00 which probably is what you use then and equals the OEM kit 5131.45. According to Service Box this one is for 'XU/XUD AND NORMAL SUSPENSION' and does not include that special seal.SNR KS559.08 equals the OEM kit 5132.62 and is for 'IMPROVED SUSPENSION'. It additionally includes the mysterious seal. This is what I found out. Jord wrote that he uses the 5132.62 kits so he could have come in contact with the seal before? |

I have had genuine kits with that seal and fitted them as per the drawing above. Personally I found them to be a pain in the arse with no logic to why they are there. Also found the trailing arm shaft needed to br tapped in rather than just sliding in nicely. I relocate them to the bin now. 205 / 309 / 306 did not seem to come from factory with them fitted as said above. Would love to hear an explanation as to what there purpose is though ________________________________________ How to do a clicky: click here remove the space between [url & = |

Thanks for the confirmation! I also cannot explain what its purpose could be. Looks like it protects the inner bearing but if water and dirt ingress damages the outer bearing it's pointless. |
