I was wondering whether this was what the engine sounds like normally when idling? To me it doesn't sound great and has a screechy rattly noise... It clears when the throttles opened up and runs great but would be good to hear off someone with more experience. Below is a video of the engine running and when opening the throttle a little:https://youtu.be/FQ6gu1r2FDw ________________________________________ 98 Blaze 6 - Current |

That sounds very different to mine. I know what you mean, the kind of high pitch metallic noise.....no idea what that could be________________________________________ Phase 1 silver track car335i daily |

Thanks everyone guess it was just me being paranoid, the heat shield is stainless steel which is new so it may reverberate off it a little and made me notice it a little more, may look at replacing the injectors then ________________________________________ 98 Blaze 6 - Current |

They are all a bit ticky to be fair. I wouldn't worry too much about changing them. That being said though, I swapped mine and it definitely goes better. Nossles must've been worn not giving such a good spray pattern or something. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

injectors rarely wear out on these but they can get very grubby, getting them cleaned professionally will fix them.tappets can and do get noisy with age now, but a full stripdown clean and re-assemble can make an engine significantly quieter, unfortunately thats nigh on a full top end rebuild but can be done in situ. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |
