I didn't see the reading unfortunately but I was fine with decat and (im not sure what) exhaust, not standard though. This was the static reading.

Yep from the sounds of the conversations we had with them afterwards it was out of the ordinary.

The one I'm looking to do is with MSV so maybe it won't be so packed? Fingers crossed.... plus it's all day so if it is then I'm not gonna be out all day anyway

They are a much of muchness, some tracks take volume better than others (e.g. Beford and the bigger international circuits) - the more you pay for the day the less cars on track

LITTLE UPDATE

Fitted the Miles gear linkages, not a 10min job as some said haha I think it took me about 1.5hrs if I'm honest! These things feel miles better....I would highly recommend

Also in attempt to make it look a little more appealing I am embracing the phase 1 design and what I have seen on S16s, also painted up a couple of bits:

I really like the lights like this, some may not...

ROLL CAGE

Some of you may have seen that I cut the cage out of a shell that Ross had (I think he got it from Dan). I then spent quite a few days prepping the car and the cage for welding. My angle grinder has been my best friend for a while now....

With my cousin we began placing the cage and trying to work out the best way to fit it, bear in mind we had cut it out of another car and lost a little bit of length. After a little while we got it tacked into the car and then we were still able to tweak how it sat, we decided to sit it a little further forward than it was in the rallye we cut it out of.

Once tacked in we were able to make up 4x4 plates to sit under the hovering ends of the tube. Once done this allowed me to make the cardboard templates to create the rest of the mounts.

After that it was time to use the guillotine, angle grinder and sander to start replicating the cardboard plates with sheet metal.

These were then tacked in and dressed up to ensure a good fit

Then it was down to my cousin to sit and weld, as always he did a brilliant job. I was there for moral support and fuel line duty to ensure we didn't blow the car up.
After a few hours the cage was fully welded in and the mounts were painted with hammerite to ensure no rust and the underbody coated with a load of underseal where the welding had destroyed the original sealant.

I stupidly haven't got a full cage in picture but will put one in soon Thumbs up , the second seat was also welded in however it got pretty dark by the point so I do not have a picture of that either.

As everyone knows the car feels SO MUCH better with the cage in, ridiculously solid when driving around now, I love it.

TARTING UP

While he was welding I was able to spend a bit of time tarting up more of the car with spray paint. Got the wing mirrors and door strips painted up, which looks a lot better

LEFT TO DO

I have a few more parts on the way:

1. Roller bearing wishbones Thumbs up
2. Some Hi Spec calipers alongside everything I need to fit these bigger brakes

I'll update once these have arrived!

They got a euro torch by the looks of it so their welder is much better than mine. Welds do look decent too.

Did a compression test today as I am keen to go down the throttle body route and wanted to check just in case before I invest.

All cylinders were at 120psi obviously the gauges can vary however the fact there is not any difference is reassuring.

After Snetterton I had some idling issues, while I was looking at the car today I moved the loom that runs near the air filter and it idled perfectly so I think I have a wiring issue which is what my hunch was all along!

How are your oil temps on track with the 16 row cooler? Does it stay cool for long? Thanks

Had a great time at Snetterton, the car ran really well up until (what I think) is some loom came loose.

I have some videos from the day

Run 1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTiNAbl6fFo

Run 2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hmXDo6VG4Q&spfreload=10

Unfortunately I did not film once it dried up as I was really flying then.

Some pictures

Did a bit of work on the car today only simple stuff.

Replaced the heat shield and I am glad I did!

Removed the inlet manifold in preparation for the throttle bodies I am putting in!

I need to tidy up a load of the loom and fit a new rad with hoses I am going to order from Baker BM, I really need to get rid of the heat exchanger I have cable tied up!
