Car is also at standard ride height and I don't have any intentions of lowering.

Got a bit of a dilemma. My 6 is in need of a front suspension refresh, so I'm putting together a list of new components - new top mounts, bump stops & shocks (the springs, wishbones & P bushes are only 2 years old), and the shocks are causing me the biggest headache! I'm torn between buying OE Pug shocks or going to the Bilstein B4. Any thoughts / recommendations on which is best? From the reading on here it seems to be a mixed bag with regards to ride comfort, and I've seen a few question marks about Bilstein's quality. For what it's worth there is a negligible difference in cost between the two at present.Car is also at standard ride height and I don't have any intentions of lowering. ________________________________________ 2000 W Phase 3 Moonstone. |

I have also just put some new bilstein B6 on my car and it's hardly even lowered it. maybe 20 - 30 mm only covered 800 miles and might change for some Gaz golds as I can lower it more for track use so I might be persuaded to sell them a bit early too if you like________________________________________ Team SUPERCHARGEDI LIVE FOR THE 306 Old Project thread Clicky: click here remove the space between [url = |

The bilstein B6 have H&R springs on but can have anything from standard height springs down to 40mm springs so you can also put your springs on the b6 if you want them a bit higher________________________________________ Team SUPERCHARGEDI LIVE FOR THE 306 Old Project thread Clicky: click here remove the space between [url = |

Thanks for the offer Manthos, but I'd rather buy brand new parts - I'm sure you're an honest chap but at least if I buy brand new and something fails I'm not going to have any warranty issues etc.________________________________________ 2000 W Phase 3 Moonstone. |

I have oem on my rallye and b4 on the 6 all brought in the last year oem are best for performance and comfort and firmness the b4 can be tricky with regards to the welded notch that positions the shock into the hub nuckle i think they produced them incorrectly as the strut does not sink all the way into the knuckle and produces a higher ride positionB4 s are cheaper If you have the extra pennies go oem ________________________________________ BLACK RALLYE - phoenixWHITE RALLYE - valliant http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/ https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history |

Thanks for that mocinim - how do you rate the ride quality on the B4's - better than OEM or about the same? As for cost I can source the OE's for £10 more than the Bilstein B4's, so that's not an issue.________________________________________ 2000 W Phase 3 Moonstone. |

The ride is better with oem definately there more consistent b4 i find give variations in there rebound depending on how your driving oem are more stable both have eibach springs both sets also newThe differences arnt massive but oem for me Strangely i found febi bilstein top mounts better quality Although oem springs are the best by far for standard ride height ________________________________________ BLACK RALLYE - phoenixWHITE RALLYE - valliant http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/ https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history |

Interesting to know about Febi top mounts - I'll bear that in mind.As for springs mine is running Sachs ones, as when I bought it both fronts had snapped but didn't come to light until it was being recomissioned - I haven't noticed any issues with them but I haven't been out in a car with OE Pug ones to compare. ________________________________________ 2000 W Phase 3 Moonstone. |
