I have purchased a new boost gauge with built in shift light and the instructions say to hook up the tach wire to the negative on the coil.

I am assuming i can just hook it up to one of the coil pack negatives, would this be right?

Or is there a better place to wire it to?

And would anyone know which one of the 2 wires on the coil is negative, just to save me faffing?
