Hi guys, following on from my previous post of it not working, the relay was ok and we changed the heater control panel for one that was known to be fully functional - it now works, but all the time and on the fastest setting and you can't turn it down or off Crazy it only stops when you turn the car off - any suggestions or ideas as to wtf to try next guys Dunno any help much appreciated Thumbs up

I'd say it's the fan unit itself, have you tried swapping out the unit? (Much easier than the controls LOL)

Sure the auto is connected to the air con which is connected to the rad fan also check the connection to the aircon ! Plug to the left hand side by the rad and also as suggested change the fan the motor coils may have fused internally

The fan is never actually off when accessory power is on, the lowest setting it still rotates. The units sometime go crook and no matter what input sped it's told from the controls, it will only go full stick. Had the same issue in my wagon so I ended up pulling out the fuse until I got a new unit

That will almost always be the resistor at fault. On AC models it's integrated with the blower motor. It's the Ally heatsink part underneath the fan blades as you look at it. You can buy them separately and to fit is only a few little screws but can be easier to swap the whole motor assembly if you have a spare.

I had all sorts of strange problems with my blower which took us a while to get to the bottom of. Turned out to be the resistor on the blower unit. Some people call it a rheostat too.
