To use an alternative set of keys, do I just disconnect the battery while the ignition is on then reconnect and use the new keys?________________________________________ S Reg Diablo standardsSpec SORNEDR Reg Nile standard spec written off then repaired X Reg Astor in need of TLC R Reg Nile to restore Set of Lions to fit. |

No just take the chip out of the key and put it in the new key ? Depends what you mean by use a different key ? Are you changing the ignition barrel ? |

Yes, I'm changing all the locks and ignition barrel. Do I just turn the ignition on, remove the battery, remove the key, insert the new key, then reconnect the battery to code the ECU to the new key? ________________________________________ S Reg Diablo standardsSpec SORNEDR Reg Nile standard spec written off then repaired X Reg Astor in need of TLC R Reg Nile to restore Set of Lions to fit. |

you will not code the new key to the ecu without software/hardware to program it |

If its a properly unlocked ecu it will be plug and play. If its soft unlocked you need to unplug your transponder________________________________________ 1998 Supercharged White Rallye1992 205 GTi6 205 Turbo 340bhp |

I was under the impression that once the ECU was soft unlocked it would lock using the new chip in the key?I only had one old key but have two new ones so thought this would be the easiest and cheapest way to do it. ________________________________________ S Reg Diablo standardsSpec SORNEDR Reg Nile standard spec written off then repaired X Reg Astor in need of TLC R Reg Nile to restore Set of Lions to fit. |

to soft unlock ecudisconnet ecu with engine running then cut the transponder wires, the 3 wire numbers are 820,821,822 by cutting the wires the immo decoder cant send the lock unlock code to the ECU this will bypass the immo chip so you have no ecu security there is a risk the ecu will re-lock on its own, this wont help getting the second key working with the central locking that is a different issue if you have i working key with working immo just get the immo chip cloned at a good locksmiths and insert it into the 2nd key case |
