I have found water in the boot on the left had side inder the light on the wheel arch. See picture (red for where the water is.

I have searched and the normal issues are with the lights, boot seal, rear windows. I have checked and round the lights, window/boot seal all looks dry. Any other places to check?

Has it had a CD changer at some point? Are there holes drilled for the mounting bracket?

Do you have an arch liner fitted?

If not, then check the c-pillar for corrosion/lack of c-pillar behind the trim.

Right no signs of a cd changer and arch liners look present and correct.

The carpet is bonded to the back of the arch so seems a shame to pull it off. The plastic moldings on the c-pillar under the window are they easy to get out?

Hmmmmmmmm, I suspect it's either going to be the boot or light seal

Always worth pulling out and resealing the lights, and spraying the boot seal with silicone to make it nice and supple.

its not the rubber bung(cable guard) at the top of the boot lid connecting the two?

sometimes these can perish or pop themselves out.

I had this problem it was down to corrosion in the wheel arch. It had pitted quite baddly and left pin holes where water could get through. Pull back the carpet and see, it'll glue back on easily enough. Have a look at my project thread there's a picture of how bad the arches were. Thumbs up

I'd have to second this had the same problem with a phase 3 dturbo that spent one too many winters in Scotland. Pull out the arch liner and have a good look up there. If there is surface rust you could try Fe 123 and an epoxy mastic paint over. You'll be needing the correct width fir tree push clips to put the liner back in. I've also seen a lad wet his own boot by shooting a jet hose up to the spare wheel (wheel lock missing).

Yeah pulled the archh liner off and all looks good. Pulled out the rear lights and they were very dirty round the seal, so have cleaned them up and the boot seal. Just need to wait for some rain and see how it goes.

Put the rear seats down and take the parcel shelf out. Run the hose over the car and it may show where it's coming from.

It could be anywhere.

It's not this as I don't use the rear water much and the car gets wet when stood (or at least I don't think it is)

This will be next on the list after the rear windows. The water is coming out from the plastic where the parcel shelf speaker connector goes.

And Happy Birthday Thumbs up
