I've been hunting down a fuel pump not priming issue and I've dot back to the double relay not being powered up. What I've got to is that pin 2 isn't getting powered and apparently is a permanent +ve which is the switcher circuit for the relay that drives the fuel pump and ignition coils. The main power for that circuit is there but because it can't switch it's not powering up.

Advice please

Have you got a Haynes manual? There's some useful wiring diagrams in there which should help you find the issue. I think I have an online copy somewhere if needed

Yeah man got one here, using a Bosch ecu

Fuel pump top right corner and associated relay is the top one.

Update I've got power to pin 2 now???? But still not powering relay so the earth side mustn't be working, which it looks like that's controlled by the ecu? Is it immobiliser related?

Presume you've checked the inertia switch? That cuts power to the relay

Power to that comes from the ecu. Generally won't if you have an immobiliser or ecu fault

What would cause the ecu or immobiliser to fault? Still I paired set with correct keys etc,

1st side the relay is controlled by the key = fuel pump is it priming
2nd side the relay is ecu controlled by the immo

to see if ecu is unlocked you will need to get it on planet

there is a fuse that blows that will stop the ecu i forget the number

favorite issue for fuel pump not priming are

fuse
inertia switch
burned double relay base
burned double relay
burned cable joints under dash (above passenger feet two loom plugs)
faulty pump

have you had the engine out recently or disturbed the alternator?
check the second white wire is connected to the battery + at the alternator this powers the engine loom (larger ring taCool

I've jump wired the plug and can get the fuel pump to run, so that means it's not a fuse/ inertia switch fault. Engine has been out but haven't disturbed the looms at all just undid them from the chassis leg and left them to dangle.
