I spotted a thread on here where someone advised jamming something solid down by the buffer, can I ask why you need to do this (might resolve my issue?)

Hi guys, I have change the upper engine mount and the buffer thing that sites with it. The loud knocking is now gone but there is still a random light knocking that seems to be coming from the same area. I spotted a thread on here where someone advised jamming something solid down by the buffer, can I ask why you need to do this (might resolve my issue?) |

Shouldn't be knocking if its in correctly did you check the steel around the mount base sometimes needs ablob of weld if its been collecting moisture otherwise best to take a short vid post it on YouTube and set a link tis always hard to diagnose on a discription ________________________________________ BLACK RALLYE - phoenixWHITE RALLYE - valliant http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/ https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history |

The knock is almost like a rattle anf very faint, no video would pick it up. I'm sure the old mount was loose when I took it out, better have another look. |

Was the chassis leg where the mount screws into in good condition? These are very common to crack.________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

The bottom part of my rubber top mount once broke and that rattled under certain circumstances. Not really any help for your situation though.________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |
