I wouldn't be too hard on the price - if you got a tatty 100K+ car with a 15 year old head gasket and got the cam belt, brake overhaul, radiator done and a couple of other things along the way you would be not far off the price for this car. The FSH must be worth something as well. Depends what a buyer is looking for I suppose. The engine noise might lower the price though.

If it is the real deal then perhaps a little harsh
but id have a man to go and see if id had the work done or if id done it myself i would garantee the work only saying as brought my first rallye from a guy with a fresh mot all said he was a good guy once i had it home and inspected on a ramp realised the true condition
Im not at all saying that this car isnt the real deal but high prices and lots of paper dosent mean much to me good reference and long ownership mean alot more
Was this brought just to sell and make a quick buck

If you think I'd let some man turn up, strip off my cambelt cover to see if the works been done then you have another thing coming my friend.

Why would I allow you to do that when not only do I have the receipt for the parts but the receipt from the person who changed it?

What a truly bizarre thing to say. It's not a McLaren F1 mate, it's a 16 year old Peugeot.

Thanks ariGTI6, you are welcome to have a sniff anytime.

Anyhow, my 740i appears to be selling this Saturday which will most likely mean I keep the 306 with the Lexus.

Good luck with the sale! It's a decent car. Really good condition. A few that have come on ebay etc have been needing a lot of work but yours really needs nothing just apart from the ticking, could be anything though.

The full service history is worth it all day long, you can inspect work but the best is to see the receipts as that tells you how well the car has been looked after with no expense spared.

A logical comment from lj_6. Thanks mate.

Yep, service history books don't mean a thing to me (even though I have them); for me it's all about the invoices!

I have someone coming tomorrow at 3.30 pm to see the car.
