So today I was like an excited school child getting the car ready to for the Satchshift and bugger me ive only gone and screwed the car...

So I have spent some time removing the centre handbrake console parts, lower heater matrix and various sounds deadening bits...I did have to remove an aftermarket fag lighter someone had put by the tray thing by the handbrake but that was wired to the back of the original lighter...

Anyway, the only thing major I did is temporarily undo the large earth behind the fuse box to remove the sound deadening up there...

Come to start it and it will turn over as normal, I can hear fuel pump priming and it stinks of fuel but clearly no spark...soooo further investigation points to the immobiliser based on the fact it looks like there is no spark and the light has stopped flashing when locked etc

Has anyone had a similar scenario? Does the immobiliser need resetting or something or is there a fuse for the immobiliser I could have blown?

Please help, bloody thing is hard to shift on my own lol

Cheers

Chris

Try disconnecting the battery for 10 mins, then reconnect it, plop your plipper a couple of times, keep your fingers crossed & turn the key.

Cool

She's alive! Turns out that the 5amp fuse that clearly powers the immobiliser had blown...

Just don't do what I did and start chopping random cables out... Takes a while to figure out why things don't work! Smile

Haha yes i was scared of that, I'm more concerned by the evidence of rust along the inside edge of the floor pan/sill clearly visible in a number of spots :-(

That 5amp fuse blowing is usually down to a faulty alarm siren caused by water ingress.

Chances are it will happen again. Yes
