Guys, have asked on OC as well but will ask here too...

Currently restoring a beam to go onto my Rallye. Looking to make it absolutely OEM spec.

Ow, I know the beam tube on the sports models was yellow, with the torsion bars Red, both being a powder coated finish. Does anyone know the actual colour codes before I go and ask Peugeot themselves?

The real questions lie in what was the finish on the rest of the beam parts? The trailing arms, the brackets that hold the beam mounts and all the little plates, clips etc. Pretty much everything in this photo...

I know the 4 large nuts and bolts were a yellow zinc passivate finish. I'd suspect that the small plates and brake line clips were likely of the same finish but need to be certain. Gone a bit OEM mad on the Rallye restoration so really want it to be right. I've a pair of NOS disc back plates to go on as well. I'd just like it all to be right.

So, any ideas on factory finish or any pics anyone has of a complete factory beam in as new condition? Google didn't come up with much....

Nothing was originally powder coated, all a hard paint finish which I've switched to now as it's better, doesn't crack when doing bolts up or you need to remove the finish before bolting things down

Thanks guys.

Mei gave me some good info over on 306 OC as well. Only thing I've not got is the paint codes for the red and yellow. There is someone that's got paint that's very very close but doesn't want to tell me what the colours are. If I want the paint, I have to get a beam from them.....I'll figure something out. Will start by filling the pitting and zinc priming the tube. Flat that back and give some paint a whirl

No one got any thoughts?

I'm think either Zinc Yellow or Sulphur yellow.

Anyone got a pic of an unrestored beam with a decent yellow bit?

Andy, I just want to be as close as possible to the original finish. Trying to get as close to OEM as I can with the restoration on my rallye.

Have ordered two cans of 2k RAL 1021 Rape Yellow. Looks about as close I can get
